Cast includes Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Oscar Levant, Billie Burke, and Gale Robbins. (109 minutes, 1949)
Deep Valley: Into Lupino’s common life, he becomes a fugitive from a close-by jail gang. Abnormal, artsy film adjusted from Dan Totheroh’s novel, set contrary to the genuine-life developing of the Pacific Coastline Freeway extension to Monterey. Lupino is excellent, if miscast, as an ethereal, protected farm gal. Cast includes Ida Lupino, Dane Clark, Wayne Morris, Fay Bajnter, Henry Hull, and Willard Robertson. (104 minutes, 1947)
Accepted: After being rejected by one college after another, Bartleby Gaines decides to create his own, The South Harmon Institute of Technology. With the help from a couple of friends, and the use of an abandoned psychiatric hospital, he is off to the races. Now all the rejected students have a place to go to college. Stars Justin Long, Jonah Hill, Adam Herschman, Blake Lively, and Columbus Short. (2006 Comedy)
Rentadick: Out of the nether-land between The Goon Show and Monty Python comes this romp written by Python buddies John Cleese and Graham Chapman, spoofing recipe secluded-eye flips. An experimental nerve fuel that paralyzes from the waist down has been stolen and Rentadick, Inc. is employed to track down the perpetrators. Cast includes Jim Clark, James Booth, Julie Ege, Ronald Fraser, Donald Sinden, Michael Bentine, Richard Briers, and Spike Milligan. (94 minutes, 1972)
The Day After Tomorrow: The climate on the Earth is changing rapidly. Global warming appears to be setting off a cataclysmic event. With little time to react huge, devastating winter storms are about to descend on the northern parts of the U. S. The devastation will be overwhelming.
Final Analysis: Isaac Barr is a psychologist who falls for one of his patient’s sister, Heather. It turns out Heather is married to a mobster, who treats her poorly. She eventually kills her husband. Isaac now helps her with her defense. As time goes on Isaac starts to question just what is going on.
