Coastal Vacation Club Scam?

Many people are looking for a home based business and have seen Coastal Vacations Club in magazines, online, and in all kinds of advertisements.

They wonder… Is it a scam?

Few things to consider:

1. Coastal product has been around now for 27 years (sold as a timeshare exit package still to this day in many locations).

2. Coastal Vacations business opportunity has been around now for 12 years.

3. There are plenty of Documented savings from happy customers using their membership over the years, See 27 Pages of Social Proof of Coastal Vacations savings.

4. Coastal has grown in membership to over 100 countries worldwide, and grew in membership in the last two years more than it has in its first 10 years. (maybe our call center and other great systems out there helped to contribute to this? I think so.)

5. Coastal Vacations is a membership and information product, having it simply leads people to the resources of where they’ll save money on travel opportunities. Coastal vacations is not a seller of travel, therefore it is not a licensed entity. We only sell access to the information. Which is why it is an information product. If you wanted to create your own Coastal program, one could. You would simply need to get all 40 or so vendors contact details, and order certs from then, and put them under your product’s name. Believe me, many companies have come and gone, trying to knock Coastal off the block, doing this, but look who is still here 26 years later…. Coastal is, while others faded away.

6. Coastal Vacations does not promise to give its members the lowest possible price and always beat out other competitors. This might shock some, but Coastal does not always bring back the best prices. I have seen other online vendors beat some of our travel partners prices. But in many situations (about 85% of the time) Coastal Partners did have the best price options when selecting week long condo stays. Use the package according to how to see yourselves getting the best value and vacation savings. We use it primarily for Condo weeks. We also have travel agent credentials from our related agent vendor, Intelitravel, which we would never have known about, if not for their relationship with the Coastal board.

7. Coastal vacations is not an MLM program, because it does not pay on multiple levels or on sales of people under you. We are also not paid to recruit people. With Coastal, it is a direct sales business. Just like any company selling a product, the distributor sells a membership and then is paid a commission on the sale. When McDonald’s sells a hamburger, for $1.00, a portion of that goes as profit. With Coastal, a portion of our sale, goes to profit for the reps.

8. Coastal Vacations Club is an association. It is not a corporation or company. An association is goverened by people called the Board of Directors who are all in Coastal as reps and they work with our travel partners, our web partners, and other entities VOLUNTARILY (no pay) to keep the machine of fulfilling travel memberships as smooth as possible. They also plan many live regional seminars, host 8 weekly live interactive conference calls, and provide customer support. We have weekly calls with our Board of Directors, which can address any shipping errors, or questions from members and non members. It’s usually a live call, but sometimes, I hear they just play a recording.

9. To my knowledge, business opportunities that promote with a 2-up comp plan are not outlawed or illegal. Many people argue about these types of comp plans as there are many sites dedicated to proving thier validity and invalidity. For the most part, the sites that try to pursuade people against a 2-up program, are simply doing so, to get people to join their deal. To this date, 1-up and 2-up Business Opportunity comp plans like Coastal Vacations Club are STILL in business.

10. Coastal Vacations Club membership cannot be sold or promoted in South Dakota. Why? Some issue with S. Dakota and Coastal, stemming back from May 2000. This is what the state of South Dakota told me (I have the letters from them as proof). So, if you live in S. Dakota, or market in S. Dakota, cease there until whatever this issue is, gets resolved. (I have never made a sale in South Dakota anyways, so I am not worried about selling there).

11. ALL Coastal Vacations reps act as independent contractors and business entities. Whether a person is a sole proprietor, or is a state declared Limited Liability Company or is Incorporated, their business exists outside of Coastal Vacations. All Coastal Vacations is… is a shipping center, called NB Management or North Branch Management, which has a mailbox in Kissimmee, FL. They also have other mailbox centers like HP Managing in Arkansas. They simply drop ship memberships to the people who order memberships. And yes, there are cases where drop shipping errors have occured and things got fouled up. (we don’t have a perfected shipping system, things do get lost in mail/translation…. and sheer volume of orders will dictate an occasional muff up…yes, I am admiting they are not perfect!). But where I see true scamming happening is done by individual Directors. Yes, like many popular opportunities and within free societies, people will take advantage of a system and ruin it and foul it up, giving the regular guy and the company a black mark, even though they have nothing to do with it. So, when it comes to Coastal Vacation Club Scams, it all comes down to what system or director you join up with. I reccomend you do your due diligence on the director, and ask them 27 questions about their involement with Coastal.

I get calls weekly from people who had someone steal their money, and never order a package for that member, then they disappear. There are directors doing this all over the word. Some I know personally and some I have never heard of. So, just make sure you check up on people, I give an endless list of references of teammates on my team so people can get the opinion of others, not mine… about me…

12.  Some people believe that high commissions are not good ethics, meaning, people should not make a 75% commission of the sale of a product. Well, this is business and that is how businesses stay in business. Anyone can join an MLM company and get paid peanust, like 5-15% commission, and those amount to like $5-$20 per sale, but here is what I found. It takes just as much effort to sell a $2000 business opportunity as it does a $20. You gotta market, you gotta advertise, you gotta buy leads. And no matter which program, the effort is the same. So, ask yourself, would you rather make a $20 commission or a $1000 commission for the same amount of time and work? Why not get paid the big stuff and actually survive as a business, and not a hobby.

Well, here are 12 examples of proof showing the potential prospect, that Coastal Vacations is not a scam at all. If it was a scam, it would not be allowed to be in business. If it was a scam, it would not be partnered with many well established and credible travel establishments.
