Another famous Canada fishing area is the Great Slave Lake. You will find your fill of northern pike and lake trout. The fish up in that area grow like weeds. The pike caught out of that lake have been said to be six feet long. The weather conditions around the Great Slave Lake are not stable. The weather can be rough for a boat, therefore, you should always use a boat with a motor in case the weather condition change quickly.

Another great place for a great Canada Fishing trip is Rainy Lake. You will find this area filled with small mouth bass. The fish are big and older as the fishing in the lake has allowed the fish to produce more fish repeatedly. Because of the catch limit, the fish population has been allowed to multiply and become abundant in the Rainy Lake. Pike, walleyes and pike are an easy catch with the right fishing gear.

Manitoba and Ontario seem to be the best places to catch walleye. Not only is the fishing great the lodging in the area is at its lowest from other areas. Aikens Lake is great for fishing walleye as far as size and numbers. You might catch a walleye weighting up to ten pounds. This is an area where the waters are populated with the walleye, which makes it easier to reach your catch limit.

If your Canada fishing trip includes catching lakers, you are going to want to be in the Nunavut area. Great Bear and Athabasca are heavily populated with fish weighing in at up to sixty pounds. Some lakers stay in the swallowed waters making the Kasba Lake a great spot for catching lakers weighing in at about thirty pounds. The tundra and tree lined shorelines are great for fly-fishing in the Kasba Lake.

You are not going to find any better place to fish and actually have a catch then these highly rated fishing areas. If the time is right, you can find some real good deals on lodging as well. Some of the lodges however may have restriction regarding the catch. If you want to keep your fish, you need to find out the restrictions of the lodge or camp you will be staying at in Canada. Not everyone will catch a fish, but if you use the right rod and reel along with the proper bait, you will have a great chance at catching that prize fish. Once you have your first catch, the rest will be easy. You can have your limit in no time when fishing the lakes in the Canada area.

Many of the popular fishing areas have outfitter camps or fishing lodges that have lower prices during the off seasons. Many of these camps are located within walking distance to the waters. If you need fishing equipment, you will probably pay a little extra to rent the equipment from the lodge or fishing camp. Many anglers feel this is a small price to pay to not have to haul around their own fishing gear.

Another way to find cheaper accommodations for a Canada fishing trip is to look for the newer fishing camps or outfitters on the good fishing lakes. These places sometimes have lower rates because they are trying to attract business. Once they built a reputation and a clientele of anglers, they will more than likely raise the rates. Some people find that renting a camper and staying at a campground close to the lakes is more than enough of a budget for a fishing trip. 

When you are planning your budget Canada fishing trips, you need to take into consideration the areas where the fish are biting and what type of fish you wish to catch. You also need to determine if you want to keep your catch or throw it back. These considerations will also help you plan a budget-fishing trip. The most important question is the price of the accommodations and fishing package, but if you can take your fish home or not. You will also want to take into consideration the rules governing your catch to determine where you stay.

This is why it is indispensable to take into consideration some of the factors such as the necessary documents and abiding by the regulations so as to obtain a hassle-free border-crossing travel. For those who may wish to take a trip to Canada, here are some guidelines that should always be taken into account.

Proof of Citizenship or Identification

At the present, you’ll be required to have a driver’s license or any government issued photo ID and an official proof of citizenship such as a birth certificate. You’ll need these in case you don’t have a passport. However, they will be obliging everyone crossing the borders to present a valid Canadian passport starting on July 1, 2009. But for the meantime, the previous alternatives will suffice.

Children who are 15 years old or younger and are not traveling with both parents should present a signed letter of consent from the non-traveling parent plus a copy of documents showing legal custody. The letter should state that the child is permitted by the other parent to go out of the country and must include the contact information of the non-traveling parent. You may also want to bring a certified copy of your child’s birth certificate.

Be Patient and Polite

When you reach the border, expect a bunch of questions and interrogations from the border guards as you hand over the necessary documents. Give specific and clear answers in an audible but polite manner. Border guards are extremely professional and are just doing their job so cooperate and do not inquire as to why something should be asked or done.

Prohibited Items

Canada is not in favor of bringing endangered species or items made from endangered species as you cross over the border. Moreover, everyone coming into and out Canada is obliged to delay any fruits, vegetables, meats, or any agricultural and animal products they transport into the country. This should be firmly executed to protect the country’s agriculture, livestock, and the Canadian people from foreign diseases and pests.

There are actually specific items that are not permitted to enter Canada. You may want to research first on what specific products are not allowed. There are very definite rules as well as requirements to follow. For example, you are not allowed to transport a banana across the border except if it has a label on it or is still wrapped in its original packaging.

Likewise, carrying items such as tobacco and alcohol has a specific limit. Canada, as well as USA, is very strict with regards to rules about smuggling these products. As long as you bring a maximum of 200 cigarettes and 2 liters of alcohol, you would not need to pay any additional duties. Basically, the rule allows you to carry these items only for personal consumption and never for resale.

Restrictions on Guns and Firearms

Canada’s laws on firearms are considerably different from those in the United States. So make sure that you know the applicable laws if you are thinking of bringing your firearm into the country. Surprisingly, Canada allows adults over the age of 18 to bring firearms into the country given that they present the appropriate permits and documents. The firearms that are allowed but still subjected to strict regulations on safe transportation and storage are those guns associated to sports and hunting.

Indeed, planning and having a great vacation in Canada is not that daunting and difficult. As long as you know how to abide by their rules and regulations, there would not be any hassle at all.

We spent a day in Cabo San Lucas, in the desert rock climbing, hiking, rappelling, and doing 8 different zip lines in 100 degree heat! (they provide chilled bottled water)
We spent the day in Mazatlan doing Salsa and Salsa, where we learned to Salsa Dance and make authentic mexican salsa. Izzy and I played on the beach and in the pool at a nice ocean front resort.

We spent the last day in Nuevo Vallarta at the Paradise Village resort which was huge, playing in the beach, making sand castles and drinking some good mexican beers.

Being with DFI for the last 7 months has been great. Super people on that side of Coastal Vacations.
