The Right Backpacking Skills

There is a culture that surrounds backpacking.  Anyone who is a backpacker simply learns to understand that certain things are required of them.  There are many unwritten rules in backpacking.  These rules help to keep everyone safe and to keep the environment beautiful for those who will be enjoying later.  They incorporate certain skills that every backpacker must know.  As a beginner it is very helpful to have an understanding Backpacking strategies and skills so you can stay safe and become a great backpacker.

Choosing a backpack is a very important part of backpacking.  Your backpack is everything on a trip.  It can determine how much you can carry, how well you travel and how you feel while backpacking.  Making a good choice can set the tone for your whole backpacking experience.  

Backpacking is challenging and exciting.  It is meant to be an adventure, but in order to be safe and ensure it is fun you should have a plan for your backpacking trip.  Planning involves some simple Backpacking strategies and skills before a trip.  Your plan should be well thought out and prepare you for every possible surprise the outdoors can throw your way.  By having backpacking strategies and skills you will be able to focus on the actually joy of backpacking rather than worrying about the technical details once you get on the trail.

Part of a backpackers essential gear is nothing they can pack in their backpack.  This special gear is skills and Backpacking strategies and skills.  Every backpacker should have a basic set of strategies and skills that will help them should an emergency situation come up.  Survival strategies and skills are those things that will keep you alive in an emergency or threatening situation.  The type of survival strategies and skills will vary a little depending on where you are backpacking, but in general you should be able to handle basic needs like shelter, water and heat.  Orienteering strategies and skills are skills that will help you out should you get desperately lost.  You need to be able to figure out where you are so you can then find a way out.  That is where navigation strategies and skills come in.  Navigation strategies and skills will give you the ability to find your way back to camp or civilization.  First aid is another skill set you must have.  If you are hurt you need to be able to take care of it enough that you do not end up with a more serious condition once you can get medical help.  Lastly, though it is not strategies and skills is backpacking etiquette.  Every backpacker needs to respect the land.  It is important that a backpacker does nothing to destroy the environment, like littering or ruining areas.
